“I love to hear a choir. I love the humanity to see the faces of real people devoting themselves to a piece of music. I like the teamwork. It makes me feel optimistic about the human race when I see them cooperating like that.”  Sir Paul McCartney

"Lessons with Sandra have enabled me to feel 100% confident with my choices of different styles of music, we have even tried a bit of rapping!"

getting started

In December 2011 our singing studios from both Rye and London got together for a Christmas concert in the wonderful Saltcote Place in  Rye. We formed a very informal vocal ensemble for this concert and our audience (and Director and singers!) were so bowled over by the sound that we then formed our singing ensemble and called ourselves THE WALL OF SOUND, for that is how we felt we sounded!

Our ensemble is an unusual one in that we tailor make our song repertoire around the very varied members of the choir both vocally and personally enabling each person to find their own niche, whether as a soloist or  as a very valued member of the different vocal sections of the choir as a whole, Therefore our ensemble perform a wide range of repertoire from Sea Shanties to Gospel to Les Miserables to Mozart and  create a particular sound and performing experience that is we believe is unique to us!

Beginnings

Wall Of  Sound first rehearsal at Saltcote Place - Oh my goodness look at our Calum's hair!! Love it!

Since our beginning we have performed in many concerts from several standing room only St Patrick's Day bashes to accompanying award winning trip Blake to a more serene soiree in the wildness of Romney Marsh's medieval St Nicholas's church to flash mob in coastal seaside towns to Hay's Galleria and Berlin Cabaret Night in Central London.  We try to match our vocal eclecticism with performing in interesting and atmospheric settings when we can. This all adds to the fun!

Lots of Lovely Concerts!
